Drunk driving to damage

A taxi driver, Aadesh Raj, has been taken into custody by the Adugodi police on 15th July for the damage he caused to three stores on the 21st crossroad HSR Layout. At 3:15 p.m., he drove his taxi onto the footpath and into three shops while he was under the influence of alcohol. The shops faced severe damage. No customers or shopkeepers were harmed.

Two of the shops were horticultural shops owned by Rajesh Dev and Meena Perumal respectively. The third shop, owned by Ram Bal Das was a flower shop. The three shopkeepers are enraged and expect to see strict action taken against Aadesh. They expect sufficient compensation for the damages caused.

“The car swerved right onto the footpath and drove into a shop and further into two more before coming to a halt”, says Shreya Nair, a bystander. “Fortunately, there weren’t many people so no one was harmed.”
