Lockdown Live Show

It was a wonderful evening. The sky blazed with the setting sun, drenching every building of the city in its saffron essence. It seemed as though the sky was hyping me along with my friends and family for the events of that evening.

Tonight, I was going to be performing live for the first time from my home. Since there is a nationwide lockdown, there are no physical shows in the city, so every show I had to do was taken online. And tonight, was my first ever online live show. To say excited would be an understatement; I couldn’t stay put in one place as I was brimming with joy. I was also nervous, for I had never done this before.

I had decorated my room to please the audience’s eye. Everything made a wonder-lit aesthetic. I hung fairy lights from my window and changed the tube light for a more subtle yellow light.

Everything was going according to plan. I had set up all my equipment for the live. Fifteen minutes before airing. I was so nervous. To calm my nerves, I decided to play my guitar and get in the mood for music. I grabbed my guitar and reached for my pick, but I couldn’t find it. Ten minutes for the show, and I didn’t have a pick! This was a disaster!

I went to my parents and asked me to help find it. Everyone immediately broke into a frantic search for my guitar pick. While I was searching, I also realized my brother was nowhere to be found. I decided to ignore that thought for now.

It was five minutes to show and I was feeling hopeless. I didn’t even have spare picks to use. Just then my brother called me. He showed up with an abject dangling from a thread. It was my guitar pick!

He had made a necklace out of my guitar pick so I wouldn’t keep losing it; so that it would always be around me. How thoughtful!
