Musings for my love
Stars shone; moonlight dripped
We wished it would last forever
Storms blew us apart
Our ships collided
You took the loot I gave, fled
And left me to drown
Monsoon showers cried.
My wrists split open and spilled
All I could not say.
Your laugh, like soft mist.
Your mind, poetry.
My heart, so grateful.
Sweet as winter dew,
Cold-like mist. You took my heart
And crushed my spirit.
You came like summer
Brightened my days thereafter,
But left me frozen come winter.
I stayed for the warmth,
But did not know I would burn
When your flames took me.
Your footsteps like dew,
Pleasant on winter dawn,
Lost in the sunlight.
